Centigrade Coolers Maintenance Guide
Preamble: a Word about Centigrade's unique Quality Control System
At Centigrade we are dedicated to provide you high quality products that perform as you except. To insure that we deliver to you the best products we use a Quality Control Process unique in this industry: we test 100% of each product manufactured. Commonly, the Consumer Goods Industry only test a few items randomly for each production run. Not at Centigrade: each product manufactured is individually serial numbered and fully tested at the end of the production line. This insures that all shipments of products are virtually defect-free. The Quality Control data for each individual item is available at any time upon request. Please feel free to contact us and we will send you the Quality Control Certificate of the very product you have purchased.
The Centigrade products are made out of the best materials, workmanship, and thoroughly tested prior to shipping so you can enjoy years of dependable operation.
General Maintenance
- After each use, insures the cooler is unplugged PRIOR to cleaning. This is important for your safety.
- After each use, clean the inside of the cooler using a mild soap solution if needed and non-abrasive cloth. The cloth should be slightly damped, not saturated with liquid. DO NOT fill the unit with liquid as it could damage the thermoelectric system.
- Avoid scraping, puncturing the inside surface of the liner: a smooth surface prevents bacteria and mold build-up.
- Dry the unit properly and store in a cool, dry place.
- The outside of the cooler can be cleaned too using mild soap solution and non-abrasive cloth. Avoid saturating with water, insure surface is dried prior to storing.
Food tray cleaning
- If your unit is equipped with an adjustable food-tray compartment, it can be cleaned using a mild soap solution and non abrasive cloth.
- Thoroughly rinse and let dry prior to storage.
- DO NOT wash in a dishwasher.
- Avoid scraping, puncturing.
Cooling System cleaning
- Insure the unit is UNPLUGGED prior to cleaning.
- The hard plastic fan cover outer surface can be cleaned using a damped soft cloth. Do not use damped cloth near the electrical connections.
- Do not force the cloth through the air vents of fan openings.
- If the cooler has been operating in a dusty environment, you might notice lint and dust build up on the metal heat sink and fan blades (visible) through the cover vents. You can remove the excess build up using a vacuum cleaner hose attachment. Remember, it is better to clean using suction (vacuum cleaner) rather then blowing air (air compressor) into the system.
- NEVER remove the protective fan cover.
- Depending on the cooler's usage and environment, the Cooling System should only need to be cleaned once a year, or more frequently if you notice a degradation of performance.
Accessories cleaning
- The vehicle adapter accessory should not need cleaning. You can wipe the cord clean is needed using a DRY soft cloth. The plugs of the adapter should not be cleaned or tampered with. If the plugs are showing signs of excessive wear, replacements are available.
- The Power Outlet Adapter should not need cleaning. NEVER use any type of liquid to attempt to clean this device. RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK.
- please contact us first if you have questions about the accessories.
C-single cleaning
- The Centigrade C-single metal-lined surface can be cleaned using a damped soft cloth and mild soap solution.
- No other parts of the C-single should require maintenance.
Ice Roller Series cleaning
- The Centigrade Ice Roller coolers can be cleaned the same way the Centigrade thermoelectric coolers are maintained.
- The Centigrade Ice Roller coolers CAN be filled with water safely for cleaning. Avoid saturating the cooler's outside
